Boast of the Cross

One of my favorite songs in our Church Hymnal is titled,"Near the Cross". I love the chorus which states:

"In the cross, in the cross, be my glory ever; till my raptured soul shall find rest beyond the river."

I believe this chorus goes hand in hand with something Paul wrote towards the end of his letter to the Galatians.

"But God forbid that I should glory, save the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ..." - Galatians 6:14

Paul understood that there was nothing he should boast about other than the cross of Jesus and the impact the cross had on his life!

If we're going to boast about anything, let's boast about how the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ and how it has changed our lives!
