"And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? None is good, save one, that is, God."
So many folks often have trouble answering the question: "Why do bad things happen to good people?"
I really like a quote on this topic made by a minister named R.C. Sproul Jr. - "Why do bad things happen to good people? That only happened once, and He volunteered."
It might help us to be reminded that the only time a bad thing happened to a truly good person (a sinless person) was when Jesus (who was fully God and fully man) voluntarily laid down His life and suffered a cruel death (John 10:17-18) to become the sacrifice that would atone for the sin of everyone who would believe in Him. (1 John 2:2).
