I love Jesus because....
He died for me. -Tucker, 8 years old, and Jackson, 11 years old
He died for us, to save us all from Hell. -Chloe, 8 years old
Well, it's unanimous. One of the reasons we all love Jesus is the fact that He died for us some odd 2000 years ago. He willingly became the sacrifice for us. He bore the sins of each and every man as He climbed Golgotha. Calvary was the end all be all in the fight against Satan and the wiles of evil, God's "drop the mic" moment, per say. Jesus voluntarily came down from the wonders of His home in heaven to witness to a lost and dying world, and ultimately, to be crucified for a wretch as worthless and vile as me. I know most who read this will know me personally. And on the outside, sure, I bet I don't seem too terrible. But if you truly knew the contents of my heart and all the thoughts of my fleshly mind, your perception might quickly change. But see, that the thing. When my Savior walked up Calvary's hill, carrying the cross that His accusers would use to exact their punishments, He saw me. He saw me at my lowest. He didn't see me praising His name through in the midst of a church service, or singing psalms unto His goodness. But instead, He saw me when I was weak. And evil. And backslid. He saw every lie I'd ever tell. He saw the sour faces I'd make at my mom behind her back when she wasn't exactly my best friend. He saw every time I'd fail Him. And yet...He never stopped. Never turned back, never questioned, never considered. He never asked himself, "Is Abbey even worth it?" Because He believed in all of His goodness that I was worth it all. He thought we were worth it all. Every. Single. Bit. He endured every lash, sustained every prick of the thorns, and suffered every blow of the nails for us. That alone would've made Him worthy of all of our praise. But not only did He die, but He didn't leave us alone. He arose. HE AROSE. I don't think that we exactly get the point here. HE AROSE. The purest, holiest, most innocent being of all existence died, and then He arose and resumed life for us. He laid down his life, and then took it back up again. So He could make intercessions for you, and for me, for the lost, and for the burdened. He gave it all. For me. My Lord, and Savior, and Provider...is...alive. And I can think of nothing worth more praise.
